Senior Accounting and Finance Manager (m/w/d) - Berlin, Hybrid

Your mission
We are looking for an experienced Accounting and Finance Manager who will take ownership of key financial processes and contribute to our mission of providing businesses with fair and instant access to capital. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations and play a crucial part in closing the books, ensuring compliance, and supporting our finance operation initiatives.
 
As an integral part of the finance team, you will lead core accounting processes, manage financial reporting, drive operational payment processes and collaborate cross-functionally to support business decisions with accurate, timely insights. You'll also help us drive continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence across our finance function.
 
If you are a proactive finance professional with at least 4 years of relevant experience, strong technical accounting skills (preferably under German GAAP), and a hands-on approach, we’d love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Drive the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery
  • Coordinate and review tax filings, liaise with external tax consultants, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Perform and oversee payment runs, manage liquidity planning, and support cash flow forecasting
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial planning, and variance analysis
  • Support operational debt financing activities with accurate data preparation and timely responses
  • Identify, implement, and manage process improvements and automation opportunities within finance
  • Respond to internal and external finance-related inquiries and support audit processes

Your profile
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a fast-paced or international environment
  • Good understanding of German GAAP/IFRS and German tax regulations
  • Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and analytical mindset
  • Experience with process improvement and automation tools is a plus
  • Strong communication skills in English and German
  • A hands-on, ownership-driven attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Intention to drive our domain with AI-augmented processes driving efficiency and output
